Synopsis

Bliss (Ellen Page - JUNO) is a rebellious teenager, who is the current beatuy pageant queen of a small Texan town. However, she changes tact and throws in her crown for a complete change of scene and joins the rowdy world of roller derby.

Up against established roller-derby stars - Maggie Mayhem (Kristen Wiig) and Iron Maven (Juliette Lewis) - Bliss has her work cut out for her if she is going to make a mark in this ruthless sport!

WHIP IT sees the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore and co-stars Marcia Gay Harden as Bliss' mum, Brooke Cavendar, who just doesn't approve of her daughter's new found extreme sport with Eve, Jimmy Fallon and Daniel Stern.
