Synopsis

VIRGINIA is a poignant drama starring Jennifer Connelly as Virginia, a single mother trying to raise her son, Emmett (Harrison Gilbertson), on her own. She longs to move away from this small Southern town existence, but still carries on with her long-term relationship to the town’s Mormon Sheriff, Dick Tipton (Ed Harris) â€" a relationship that has lasted for almost twenty years

Their involvement comes under scrutiny when the married sheriff decides to stand for election. Matters become more intricate when Emmett starts dating the Sheriff’s daughter Jessie (Emma Roberts). In a town that seems full of secrets, the townsfolk are only too aware that Virginia may buckle under the strain.
