Synopsis

A happily married middle aged couple Marie (Charlotte Rampling) and Jean (Bruno Cremer) leave Paris for a holiday in the country. At the beginning of the holiday they go down to the beach for a swim but Jean never returns. Marie can't believe Jean is gone and UNDER THE SAND follows the story of her life when she returns to Paris without Jean and how she copes with her loss.
