Synopsis

Diane Ford (Michelle Monaghan), is her own boss working as a successful independent truck driver. Despite the carefree life of long-haul trucking, one night stands and all-night drinking her way of life is suddenly threatened by the arrival of her 11 year-old son, Peter (Jimmy Bennett), shows up at her door.

When Peter's father, Len Bonner (Benjamin Bratt), has to go into hospital, Diane and Peter who are virtually strangers are unexpectedly stuck with each other - at least for the foreseeable future until his father is better.

Burdened with this new responsibility, Diane's is no longer as simple or straightforward as she had once believed.
