Synopsis

From celebrated French director Claire Denis, her twelfth film, TROUBLE EVERY DAY was one of the most scandalous and shocking film at Cannes Film Festival 2001. Starring Vincent Gallo (BUFFALO 66), Tricia Vessey (GHOST DOG) and Beatrice Dalle (BETTY BLUE), TROUBLE VERY DAY is a modern-day horror story about a man and a woman, living thousands of miles apart, who are afflicted with the same self-destructive cerebral impairment that affects their sexual appetites.

Shane (Vincent Gallo) and June Brown (Tricia Vessey) are not your typical American newlyweds honeymooning in Paris. Shane is a tormented man, desperately searching for French scientist Leo Semeneau (Alex Descas), with whom he worked in Guinea to harness the human libido. Leo's wife Core as well as Shane are now living the dangerous consequences of their experiments, torn between their conscious selves and darker sides that know only impulsive, boundless satisfaction.

As Shane searches for Leo, Leo searches for Core, who has escaped her bedroom prison. Shane finds her first, splattered with blood and leaning over the dead body of her young neighbour... He helps put her out of her misery.

Meanwhile June tries to piece together her husband's behaviour. All she has are clues. But before she can understand Shane's secret, they are already packing their bags and leaving for home.

In their hotel, a chambermaid lies dead...with a bite taken out of her.

When a woman is beautiful, her flesh must be delicious.
