Synopsis

In a sun-drenched Italian villa where the madness of love has long been forbidden, one woman's passion is about to upend reason, bend genders and take every heart in the house prisoner. TRIUMPH OF LOVE is based on Pierre Marivaux's classic romantic comedy about a princess who will do anything to be with the man she desires. An accomplished cast turns Marivaux's exploration of love into a fun and sexy romp through the timeless territory of desire, seduction, deceit and madness in the name of romance.

It follows a bold and beautiful princess, (Miro Sorvino), who falls head over heels for her sworn enemy: Agis (Jay Rodan) the rightful heir to the princess' stolen kingdom. To get close to Agis, who is in exile in a secluded villa, she must first get past Agis' lifelong protectors, the rational philosopher Hemocrates (Sir Ben Kingsley) and his scientific spinster sister Leontine (Fiona Shaw), who have raised Agis to avoid all things romantic and emotional. Using her powerful talent for seduction - and slipping back and forth between male and female personalities - the princess wears away the defences of everyone in the villa.

However in the process she ends up engaged to three different people. Now, as she attempts to unravel her wildly entangled web, she risks losing the very heart she was aiming for in the first place.
