Synopsis

"You can't escape your lies."

The Transsiberian Express has probably seen better days, but is one of those legendary train journeys that inspires travellers to take it seeing diverse scenery and giving travellers a more personal experience. Hence an American couple, Roy (Woody Harrelson) and Jessie (Emily Mortimer), decide to return home the long way from their recent vacation in Peking, China.

They soon get talking to another couple from the West, Carlos (Eduardo Noriega) and Abby (Kate Mara), and quickly form a bond as often happens with fellow travelers away from home. When Roy gets separated from the train at a stopover point, Jessie begins to realize that their 'friends' aren't exactly who or what they seem to be. Then life threatening dangers begin to surface on what is supposed to be an enjoyable trip of a lifetime - not one of danger and survival.

Following in the tradition of other popular train journey films including Murder on the Orient Express, Stranger on a Train and others TRANSSIBERIAN bottles up all the suspense and paranoia you'd expect. Drug trafficking, murder, torture, corrupt officials and complex relationships unravel on this thrilling journey through the stunning snow-covered scenery of Russia and China.
