Synopsis

When blonde haired Miriam's Polischka (Jenny Elvers) relationship with her wealthy boyfriend ends, both she and her 15 year-old teenage son Michael (David Kross) are suddenly homeless and end up moving into a grotty apartment in Neukölln, a rough ethnic neighbourhood in Berlin.

Michael becomes an easy target for violent bullies at school and in the neighbourhood, and he is equally unhappy at home as his mum entertains different men in her search for the next suitable boyfriend.

However Michael's life turns around when urban crime lord Hamal (Erhan Emre) takes him under his wing. The ulterior motive is that Michael's honest face makes him the perfect guy for drug deliveries to local dealers. But Michael is brought face to face with the brutal dark side of his new profession when some money goes missing...
