Synopsis
Already a big hit on the Festival circuit, this award winning film from Iran, directed by Bahman Ghobadi, has generated tremendous word of mouth wherever it has played. This moving story shows how the strength of love between brother and sister can overcome adversity.
Set in a Kurdish village, the film centres on a young family of six children. Their parents are dead and they are forced to work long and hard just to survive. When Ayoub, who although just a teenager is the head of the family, finds out that his brother Madi has a life-threatening illness, the family hatch a plot full of potential hazards in order to earn some extra money to get him the urgent medical treatment he needs. However will all their efforts be in vain?
