Synopsis
THE TIGER'S TAIL is a black comedy thriller about a successful businessman in contemporary boom-time, 'Celtic Tiger' Ireland, whose life begins to unravel when he encounters his twin. Written, directed and produced by John Boorman and starring Boorman's long time collaborator, Brendan Gleeson (THE GENERAL, HARRY POTTER) with Kim Cattrall (SEX AND THE CITY), Sinead Cusack, Ciaran Hinds and Briain Gleeson, THE TIGER'S TAIL is a beautifully written and intelligent dramatic thriller.
The film tells the story of Liam O'Leary (Brendan Gleeson) who from a humble beginning becomes an Irish property developer who has made it big on the back of the Celtic Tiger. Involved in a scheme to build a national stadium, he is seriously over-extended and a rival developer is attempting to bring about his demise. Stressed and over-stretched, he seems on the verge of a mental breakdown when, to his horror, he sees his double.
Jane (Kim Cattrall), his neglected wife, is troubled by his erratic behaviour and treats his claim to have seen his 'double' as a hallucination. However on confronting his double he uncovers a shocking truth that makes him ask the question 'who am I'?
