Synopsis

Lola (Lola Marceli) feels out of place in Australia and misses her Spanish homeland, which is in contrast to her husband Ricardo (Simon Palomares) who dumps her for a scheming blonde Aussie woman. Lola's problems are compounded when she finds herself pregnant again with her second child - her other daughter, Lucia (Alice Ansara), is now 14 - and Ricardo spends their savings on a new, flashy car for his mistress.

Ricardo unexpectedly dies and his mistress makes sure she keeps the car. In desperate financial straits and miserable in a country she doesn't like, Lola finds herself also at odds with her eldest daughter Lucia who holds no grudges or blame towards her late father. This puts increasing strain on their relationship and Lucia seeks support and advice from her aunt Manola (Lourdes Bartolome), which leads towards a head on confrontation with her mother.
