Synopsis

From the producers' of HUMAN TRAFFIC, comes SW9. Directed by the award winning documentary maker Richard Parry, SW9 presents an accompaniment to its predecessor, depicting a harsher reality. Set amongst the backstreets of Brixton, South London, over a 24 hour stretch, we meet a cross section of twenty-something's, with differing agendas, united by anarchy, drugs, money and a gun.

Jake and Mitch go way back. Jake is putting on a club in a local, run down church, but he has a money making scam up his sleeve. Whilst preparing for the big night, Mitch unknowingly puts his hand into a puddle of pure LSD. In the meantime, banker Helen's briefcase with valuable contents, is stolen by Kat - a crusty, middle class drop out. One person's slip up is the catalyst to a chain of spiralling events.

SW9, is a boiling point of cultures and classes with a history of racial riots. A film that shows the less glamorous side of a scene where the association of drugs is integral to the dealers and clubbers. With an award winning soundtrack, featuring Orbital, Alabama 3 and Roger Sanchez, SW9 documents an aspect of youth culture with believable characters that retain its sense of humour.
