Synopsis
SOUNDS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT is an affectionate comedy about the struggles of growing up, and the excitement and difficulties of being a kid. It follows the journey of 4 lovable losers from very different backgrounds and parts of the continent to Europe's biggest child song-writing contest; The Junior Eurovision.
Over fifty years after all of Europe warred on the battlefield, SOUNDS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT celebrates children coming together with candidly open stories in a battle of songs and sequins, singing their 10-15 year-old hearts out.
Featuring music by Roxy Music, The Who, ABBA, Sebastian Tellier, Henri Mancini and Belgium's infamous Singing Nun, SOUNDS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT is a heart warming and quirkily authored celebration of childhood and the underdog spirit in what Variety describes as 'an irresistible crowd pleaser...delightful'. Comic and moving in turns Sounds Like Teen Spirit captures the innocence of childhood colliding with the awkwardness of adolescence, whilst above all recalling how exciting it feels to be 10yrs old again.
Sounds Like Teen Spirit is directed by BAFTA, Broadcast and Grierson nominated 'best new director' Jamie J Johnson and produced by British indie veterans Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley.
