Synopsis

Woody Allen wrote, directed and stars in this romantic comedy that follows the misadventures of an ex-con dishwasher and his manicurist wife, Frenchy. Frenchy is firmly against Ray's plan to rob a bank with three dim witted guys but he manages to win her over and even convince her to run the front for their operation. Their get-rich-quick scheme leaves them rolling in dough... but not the kind they had in mind.

Woody Allen and award-winning comedic actress Tracey Ullman are paired as the husband and wife team who take a bite out of crime. The ensemble cast of SMALL TIME CROOKS also includes (in alphabetical order) Tony Darrow, Hugh Grant, George Grizzard, Jon Lovitz, Elaine May, Michael Rapaport and Elaine Stritch. The movie was shot in and around Woody Allen's usual Manhattan haunts.
