Synopsis

Ambitious district attorney Ford Cole (Ray Liotta) has his eye on the mayor's office but his path to success is suddenly clouded by one of his deputies, assistant district attorney Nora Timmer (Jolene Blalock). When she confesses to killing a man and that she acted in self-defence her version of these events is contradicted by the story of a stranger, Luther Pinks (James Todd Smith).

Cole is catapulted into a dire race against time to establish the truth involving his colleague Nora, a record store clerk Isaac Duperde (Mekhi Phifer) and a powerful gang leader, with his career and possibly his life on the line.
