Synopsis

Started the 1970's blaxploitation films and is about a black gangster's daughter who is abducted by the Mafia in an attempt by them to take control of Harlem. Shaft (Richard Roundtree) is the slick, cool private dick called in to crack the case. The soundtrack by Isaac Hayes is probably more famous than the film which also spawned sequels and a television series.
