Synopsis
Best friends David and Emily love their carefree life on a coastal caravan park. When David learns that Emily is being forced to move away, he helps her hide out in a remote cave on the beach. But their innocent secret soon becomes complicated, as David watches the police close in on his missing friend. When the real reason Emily wants to escape comes to light, David's world is shattered. Swept up in a situation out of his control, and with his feelings for his best friend growing stranger by the day, David is forced to take action.
Filmed mainly on location in Norfolk and Suffolk THE SCOUTING BOOK FOR BOYS is the directorial debut feature from Tom Harper (BIFA Award winning and BAFTA nominated short films CUBS, 2006 and CHERRIES, 2007). Starring Thomas Turgoose (THIS IS ENGLAND, SOMERS TOWN) and Holliday Grainger (AWAYDAYS), the cast also includes Susan Lynch, Rafe Spall and Steven Mackintosh. Written by Jack Thorne (SKINS, SHAMELESS) and produced by Christian Colson and Ivana MacKinnon of Cloud Eight Films (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE), the film received its UK premiere at The Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival in 2009, where writer Jack Thorne won the 'Best British Newcomer' Award for his screenplay.
