SAW is the world's most successful horror franchise receiving over seven million cinema admissions and selling over two million DVD's in the UK to date. The franchise also boasts the world's first horror themed rollercoaster SAW the Ride launched in March 2009 at THORPE PARK the nations thrill capital. The franchise returns this Halloween with the next trilling installment SAW VI and SAW the Video Game due for release November 2009.
Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's (Tobin Bell) legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.
SAW the game
SAW invites players to engage in a horrific game inside the treacherous corridors of an abandoned insane asylum that has been transformed into a gauntlet of terrors by Jigsaw, the movie series' maniacal antagonist. SAW will expand the survival horror genre by allowing players, to experience the terror of SAW on their game console for the first time, and will pit them against Jigsaw, his brutal traps and the mind bending puzzles that have become synonymous with the film franchise.
Developed by Zombie Studios and using key elements from the incredibly successful film franchise from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, SAW uses the incredible graphic capabilities of the next generation consoles, to create a terrifying experience that offers truly unique game play features that will allow players to pit their wits against Jigsaw and make their choice... live or die.
SAW the ride
SAW - The boasts a nerve-shredding beyond vertical drop of 100° from a staggering height of 100ft. Based on the most popular horror film franchise in history, 'Saw', the new ride also boasts a variety of macabre features that mimic the sinister trap and torture scenarios portrayed in the films. Most significantly, riders will have to face the 'head chopper' at the base of the huge freefall drop which consists of four huge serrated blades that riders are hurtled towards giving the feeling that they will be beheaded.
In addition to plummeting its riders from nerve-shredding heights towards the head chopper, SAW - The Ride is also the biggest G-force rollercoaster experience in Europe. The coaster hits between a massive 4.0 and 4.7G's a total of six times throughout the course of the 100 second ride duration subjecting its passengers to a more extreme G-force experience than a space shuttle rocket launch.
