Synopsis
Adapted by Alan Sillitoe from his own novel and directed by Karel Reisz, Albert Finney plays an angry young man, who works in a factory in Nottingham, England. The film takes a grim and uncompromisingly look at the life and frustrations of a working class man and the impact he has on the women in his life, played by Shirley Anne Field and Rachel Roberts. The jazz musician Johnny Dankworth provides the music for the soundtrack.
