Synopsis

Set in 1972, nearing the end of the Vietnam War, R-POINT (which is soon to be remade in Hollywood by HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS and HERO director Zhang Yimou) is a chilling psychological thriller.

Hard-boiled lieutenant, Choi Tae-in (Kam Woo-sung), the sole survivor of a devastating battle, is assigned by the chief of the CID department to lead an investigative scouting unit back into the thick jungle.

Choi Tae-in's platoon is sent to R-Point, a ghostly, isolated island, to investigate the disappearance of nine Korean soldiers, who despite not having been seen for more than six months, are still sending radio transmissions pleading for help.
The platoon arrives in R-Point to find the place is haunted by a secret curse ans is littered with gravestones. The rescue party soon realise that the soldiers before them have suffered a terrible fate but, according to instructions from their superiors, they continue to search the area to find their bodies. In an intense atmosphere of panic and terror, the platoon find that the more they discover about the fate of their predecessors, the less likely they are ever to return home.
