Synopsis

X (Bow Wow) heads up a group of teenagers into the roller-skating craze of the 70's. At a loss when their local rink closes down, they switch to the swanky Sweetwater Rink across town with its beautiful girls and over confident, extrovert skaters.

Things come to head when X and his group vie for the championship in the Roller Jam skate off against the Sweetwater crowd led by Sweetness (Wesley Jonathan). However he finds the strength of will to win through against all the odds as well as helping to heal the rift with his dad (Chi McBride) following the death of his mum and attempt to get their lives back into some sort of order.
