Synopsis
Now that the hunter has become the hunted, Remy joins Beth (Alice Braga), another debtor who teaches him how to vanish from the system. And as he and Jake embark on a chase across a landscape populated by maniacal friends and foes, one man will become a reluctant champion for thousands on the run.
Based on the novel The Repossession Mambo by Eric Garcia, this sci-fi actioner is set in a futuristic world where people have the luxury of longevity at their whim. For those who can afford it, a company, The Union, has perfected human organ replacement. But what happens when organ recipients fall behind on payments? The Union sends in their 'Repo Men' to retrieve their property!
Remy (Jude Law) and Jake (Forest Whitaker) work as successful repo men enforcing the company's strict policy on debtors. However Remy's world is turned upside down when he suffers a heart attack at work and wakes up to find himself with a replacement, and a huge debt to pay off.
When he goes into arrears, his former partner Jake is given the job of tracking him down. On the run, Remy is befriended by Beth (Alice Braga) another debtor fleeing the repo men, who shows him how to disappear off the grid. But with Jake hot in pursuit, Remy find himself gaining notoriety amongst other debtors living in fear for their lives and increasingly they look on his as a champion for their cause and the right to live.
