Synopsis

Set in the rolling hills and farmlands of rural Wisconsin during the 1940's, RED BETSY stars Alison Elliott, Leo Burminster, Lois Smith, Chad Lowe and William Rise.

This moving film paints a lyrical portrait of a close-knit Wisconsin family dealing with loss, change and social progress during a pivotal time in American history, Shot on location in south-eastern Wisconsin, RED BETSY was written and directed by Chris Boebel.

Boebel's screenplay, based on a short story by his father about his own Wisconsin upbringing, illustrates the fundamental human difficulties of healing and forgiveness during times of profound hardship and adversity. Through the bonds of their community, however, the characters in RED BETSY discover the true meaning of family and ultimately find the strength and courage to progress.
