Synopsis

A story about chance encounters, excuses and inter-relationships unfolds in PUCCINI FOR BEGINNERS, a sophisticated screwball sex comedy about one woman's struggle to make a commitment.

Allegra (Elizabeth Reaser) is attracted to Philip (Justin Kirk) and also loves Samantha (Julianne Nicholson) but their relationship doesn't last when Samantha leaves Allegra.

Grace (Gretchen Mol) is attracted to Allegra but also loves Philip who won't marry her. When Philip meets Allegra he leaves Grace. Allegra doesn't realize they're ex-lovers.
