Synopsis

"Life is a journey. Family is a trip."

Manhattan lawyer Diane (Catherine Keener) hasn't spoken to her mother for twenty years, but decides to pay her a visit. Accompanied by her teenage son Jake (Nat Wolff) and daughter Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen), she drives them to meet their grandmother, Grace (Jane Fonda) who they’ve have never met before.

An archetypal hippie, Grace stages protests, smokes (and sells) a lot of dope, and chants at the moon once a month with her goddess-worshipping girlfriends. But what’s meant to be a weekend getaway turns into a summer adventure of romance, music, family secrets, and self-discovery.

PEACE, LOVE & MISUNDERSTANDING is a heartfelt comedy and explores second chances and the things that divide and reunite families.

Directed by Australian director, Bruce Beresford (MAO’S LAST DANCER).
