Synopsis

Set in northeastern part of Paris, in a place that everyone just calls Faubourg, the story takes place between December 1935 and July 1936.

As a left wing government is elected is the spring election, the mood is buoyant with wild new hopes but also sees an increase in extremist ideas.

When three unemployed workers occupy The Chansonia, the music hall where they used to work, the stage is set as they ambitiously decide to produce a "hit show" with support from the locals.
