Synopsis

Alternate life waves exist in alternate universes. This is the fact that everyone at the Multiverse Bureau of Investigation accepts and upholds. Every Multiverse Agent, that is, but former Multiverse investigator Gabriel Yulaw. Yulaw as he is better known, has traversed 123 universes hunting down and destroying his alternate life forces. With each murder, his remaining alter egos absorb the power and strength of those alternate life forces, gaining superhuman abilities. Yulaw continues his rampage, eradicating "himself" in each universe in an attempt to achieve his ultimate goal - to be the only one. No one knows what the magnitude of such a phenomenon will be. What will happen to the delicate balance of the many universes if he is successful in his obsessive endeavor.

The other Gabriel Yulaw, known as Gabe, is the last alternate life wave standing between Yulaw and his ultimate goal. He is a great husband and an honored veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. Gabe's life is shattered when Yulaw, hotly pursued by M.V.A., enters his universe. But saving himself - the only alternative left to him - isn't as simple as killing his evil twin from another world. Unbeknownst to Gabe, if Yulaw dies, the Multiverse Bureau of Investigation has strict orders to ensure that Gabe, too, does not become 'The One'.

In a stunning dual role international action star Jet Li portrays Gabriel Yulaw, a police officer confronted with a sinister form of himself escaped from an advanced parallel universe and intent on killing Gabriel. His alter ego's hunt culminates in a fateful battle between good and evil that changes Gabriel's perception of reality and forces him to examine the evil hidden within himself. A story of perception altering possibilities, riveting action and martial arts stunts, innovative special effects and the nature of destiny.
