Synopsis

Coming-of-age drama OFF THE BLACK stars Nick Nolte as Ray Cooke, a volatile, unkempt high school umpire. He gradually gets to know teenager Dave Tibbel (Trevor Morgan) who can't relate to his distant father, Tom (Timothy Hutton) and they become friends.

As they get closer and more reliant on each other Ray ventures to ask Dave if he will go with him as his son to a 40th old school reunion. Dave consents to this friendly deception but it ultimate ends up opening unexpected dimensions in both of them.
