Synopsis

NOW IS GOOD is a beguiling home-grown British film set in the heart of Brighton, from director/ screenwriter Ol Parker (IMAGINE ME & YOU, THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL(screenwriter)) and with a stand-out cast including Dakota Fanning (TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, THE RUNAWAYS), Jeremy Irvine (WAR HORSE), BAFTA winner Paddy Considine (TYRANNOSAUR, SUBMARINE), Olivia Williams (AN EDUCATION, THE GHOST) and Kaya Scodelario (WUTHERING HEIGHTS, SKINS). Based on the best-selling novel Before I Die by Jenny Downham..

NOW IS GOOD tells the bracing story of Tessa (Fanning), a seventeen year-old girl passionate about life who is suffering from leukaemia. With limited time to live, she takes the challenge of living her adolescence in fast-forward and compiles a catalogue of what she feels every teenager should experience, losing her virginity being one.

With the help of best friend Zoey (Scodelario), she sets the list in motion. While her family deals with fear and grief, each in their own way, Tessa explores a whole new world and discovers the feeling of falling in love, which proves to be the most exhilarating experience of them all.

Filmed on location in Brighton and London, NOW IS GOOD is a BBC Films and UK Council presentation produced by Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent for Blueprint Pictures, in association with TF1, Rising Star Films and Lipsync Productions LLP.
