Synopsis

Cris Johnson (Nicolas Cage) is a magician working in a Las Vegas showroom and has a secret which is both a gift and a curse. He is constantly tormented by it as he can see a few minutes into the future.

Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and wary of the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings."

However when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore) must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

With the nuclear time bomb ticking, Johnson could be the key to averting a nuclear holocaust. If he doesn't use his extraordinary powers to change the present, his future - and that of hundreds of thousands - could be a thing of the past
