Synopsis

MOULIN ROUGE is a celebration of love and reative inspiration set in the infamous, gaudy and glamourous Parisian nightclub, at the cusp of the Twentieth century. Director Baz Luhrmann (ROMEO & JULIET) brings together gorgeous period design and s contemporary score to create a unique motion picture experience.

In MOULIN ROUGE Ewan McGregor plays Christian, a young writer and gifted poet, who defies his bourgeois father by moving to the bohemian underworld of Montmartre, Paris. He is plunged into the heady world of the Moulin Rouge and of artist Henri de Toulouse- Lautrec (John Leguizamo) and his entourage, whilst drafted to write a nightclub spectacular. In this seedy world, he begins a passionate and dangerous affair with the club's highest paid star and courtesan Satine, the Sparkling Diamond, played by Nicole Kidman.
