Synopsis
When a violent thunderstorm unleashes an unnatural mist filled with flesh-seeking creatures, a group of townspeople trapped in the local market join together in their fight to stay alive. With visibility near zero and creatures unlike anything ever before seen, the group quickly realize that the true danger isn't on the outside, it's within each of their souls.
David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his young son Billy (Nathan Gamble) are among this large group of terrified townspeople trapped in a local grocery store by a strange, otherworldly mist. David is the first to realize that there are things lurking in the mist, creatures not of this world, that force David and the hostages to band together in a fight for survival. However he begins to wonder what terrifies him more: the monsters in the mist or the ones inside the store, the human kind, the people that until now have been his friends and neighbours?
Reuniting the king of horror with Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and director Frank Darabont (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE), THE MIST is a "scary as hell" (Maxim) film adaptation of Stephen King's tale of terror.
