Synopsis

Albert is special. He can hear the fish talking under the ice. That's his secret to being a champion ice fisherman. He's well into his twenties, but Mom still accompanies him to tournaments, where he has won hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.

Albert tries hard to remember Mom's rules: can't stare at pretty girls, can't photocopy 20-dollar bills. He feels more independent working as a copy boy for Mr. McNally. Albert guesses his over-protective mother has her reasons for being so unfriendly to Mr. McNally.

When streetsmart Tuey and her hypochondriac teenaged brother Stan drift into Albert's quaint Milwaukee suburbs, they stumble on an opportunity to fill their empty pockets. Smooth-talking travelling salesman Jerry James has also just sleazed into town. He, too, is always on the lookout for a quick buck. Maybe that's why Mr. McNally doesn't like him.

Before long, trusting Albert falls for Tuey's sexy outfits and Jerry's claim of being his real father. But Tuey is just as conniving as Jerry is dangerous.

Everyone is after wide-eyed Albert's hidden fortune. But everyone has underestimated Albert. He's a lot smarter than everyone thinks. At least he knows that Milwaukee isn't in Minnesota.
