Synopsis
While Sven and the boys bask in their deserved success, MIKE BASSETT: ENGLAND MANAGER offers a hilarious look at what might have been - or might be in the not too distant future. The almost true-to-life comedy stars Ricky Tomlinson (THE ROYALE FAMILY) as Mike Bassett, the ill-fated manager who takes on the top job. His task is to get the beleaguered team to the World Cup Finals in Brazil. However with his team dogged by the usual failures to perform and Gazza-style wild nights out splashed all over the press, a hostile media and public are looking for the nation's next scapegoat. With cameos from Barry Venison, Gabby Yorath, Atomic Kitten and Pel, MIKE BASSETT: ENGLAND MANAGER provides some top form, light relief from the real thing.
