Synopsis

MARK OF AN ANGEL tells the story of divorced mum Elsa Valentin (Catherine Frot) who is fighting for custody of her son and juggling her job at a pharmacy. When she notices a 6 year-old girl, Lola (Heloïse Cunin), at a children's birthday party she is immediately convinced it is the daughter she lost during a fire on the maternity ward.

Unable to let her thoughts go, Elsa first stalks and then craftily befriends Lola's mum Claire (Sandrine Bonnaire) inching her way into Lola's life, at the expense of her own son and to the bewilderment of her parents. As Elsa's obsession heightens and her behaviour becomes increasingly disturbing, Claire confronts Elsa, which in turn brings deeply buried secrets to the surface, as an intense psychological face off between the two mothers ensues.

Based on an incredible true story, dramatic thriller MARK OF AN ANGEL is directed by Safy Nebbou and produced by Michel Saint-Jean, producer of the critically acclaimed art house hit, THE PAGE TURNER. Starring Sandrine Bonnaire and Catherine Frot.
