Synopsis
Filmed on location in India, MARIGOLD is directed by US director Willard Carroll (TOM'S MIDNIGHT GARDEN, Disney's best-selling BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER series and the all-star Miramax drama PLAYING BY HEART). It is a musical, romantic comedy about a young American actress who travels to India and discovers that her life is transformed in the most unexpected of ways.
Ali Larter (VARSITY BLUES, FINAL DESTINATION, LEGALLY BLONDE, JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK and the current US hit television series HEROES) stars as Marigold, an actress stranded in Goa with no luggage and a bad attitude, when the financing for her low-budget Hollywood movie falls apart.
Starring alongside her in his first ever English language role is the Indian superstar Salman Khan (MAINE PYAR KIYA, HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN and, more recently, JAAN-E-MANN, BAABUL and SALAAM-E-ISHQ), as the choreographer of the Bollywood musical film in which Marigold is cast in a minor role. Despite Marigold's two left feet, they are soon in step...and in love. But, naturally, the course of true love never runs smooth
