Synopsis
MAN IS A WOMAN is a movie about Simon (Antoine De Caunes, better known as the presenter of risque show, Eurotrash) who plays a poor Jewish musician who is gay. He has a wealthy uncle who offers him money if he marries and carries on the family name. He also has a nagging mother who can't wait for him to find a girl and get married.
He begins to question his sexuality and meets Rosalie (Elsa Zylberstein) a singer. Being an orthodox Jew she has a very religious family, including an 18 year-old brother that Simon is also attracted too. Reminding one of THE WEDDING BANQUET directed by Ang Lee, the movie shows the struggle going on within Simon who would rather be sleeping with his bride's brother than Rosalie on their wedding night and the bride discovering her husband is gay.
