Synopsis

Continuing Tyler Perry's successful hits with DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN and MADEA'S FAMILY REUNION, the third film MADEA GOES TO JAIL follows the continuing exploits of this larger than life, hellraising, pistol-packin' grandmomma.

Arrested by the law after a high-speed highway chase and brought before a court to decide her fate, Madea (Tyler Perry) manages to land herself in jail when anger management issues overcome. While Joe (Tyler Perry) gleefully gloats at Madea's misfortune, his satisfaction at seeing Madea in jail is somewhat short lived as Madea's eccentric family supporters, the Browns (David and Tamala Brown), rally behind her.

In the meantime Assistant District Attorney Joshua Hardaway (Derek Luke) is ambitiously climbing the career ladder but is suddenly confronted with a case concerning a young prostitute and former drug addict that he wants to remain personal. Enlisting the help of his fiancee and fellow ADA Linda Holmes (Ion Overman), she deals with Candace Washington (Keisha Knight Pullman) case but despite her defence Candace is sentenced to a spell in jail.
