Synopsis
18 year-old Danny Mitchell (William Ash) dreams of being Ireland's most famous football player. Living in working class West Belfast he goes to a Catholic school but Danny wants to elevate himself from his current life. To achieve his dream and follow in the footsteps of his hero Carlos Rega, a recent acquisition for Belfast United, he homes in on the idea that he must improve his rhythm and is determined to learn the Samba.
He starts weekly dance lessons at a Latin dance school where 18 year-old Lucy (Keri Russell) works. Lucy who's the daughter of Sid Mc Laughlin (Brian Cox) a wealthy businessman, lives in the upper class part of Belfast and attends a private school, in contrast to Danny. However her passion is dancing and she is partnered by her possessive boyfriend Oliver (Theo Fraser Steele) who goes to the same private school and is captain of the school's football team.
Little does Danny realise how his decision to start dance classes will change his life.
