Synopsis
LUMINARIAS is a comedy/drama about four beautiful, passionate, intelligent Latinas looking for love in contemporary Los Angeles.
Four professional women come together in a restaurant in East Los Angeles to share secrets about their careers, love, family and sex. These college friends who have been through divorce and various romantic relationships are Andrea (Evelina Fernandez), a lawyer; Sofia (Marta Du Bois), a therapist; Irene (Dyana Ortelli), a clothing designer; and Lilly (Angela Moya), a visual artist, and they are all looking for love in Los Angeles.
Andrea likes Chicanos, Sofia likes white guys, Irene likes them young and Latin (but has given up sex for lent) and Lilly usually ends up with men who are most likely undocumented, unemployed and married.
LUMINARIAS sets out to examine the contemporary struggle of women with identity, independence, sexuality and prejudices through these women's relationships, foibles and sometimes humorous life experiences.
