Synopsis

Rita is the wilfully rebellious teenage daughter of repressive parents in a petit bourgeois suburb of Vienna. She's uncertainly moving between childhood and womanhood: a misfit at school and mocked by her classmates and teachers for skipping lessons. Keen to subvert expectations, she indulges in a relationship with a much younger boy, but when she finds this unsatisfying, she pursues an encounter with a much older man.
