Synopsis

From the late distinguished playwright Tennessee Williams, THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND is a period drama set in the 1920's and centers on Fisher Willow, the daughter of a wealthy plantation owner. Sent to finish her studies abroad, she returns but is much disliked for her outspokenness. Known for her unapologetic and characteristically shocking behaviour she has few friends on the debutante circuit.

Fisher portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard strikes up a friendship with Jimmy (Chris Evans). Jimmy's parents work for her family's plantation but have their problems especially his alcoholic father. As Fisher falls deeper in love with Jimmy, she attempts to make him appear a suitable socialite catch, particularly for her aunt who has been left in control of her family's fortune. When Fisher loses a valuable teardrop diamond, her aunt is deeply suspicious of Fisher's explanations and this puts increased pressure on their already delicate relationship.
