Synopsis

Set in Georgia in the 1930s, Rannulph Junuh (Matt Damon) was the golden boy of Savannah, winning golf tournaments and excelling at everything he did. Then he went off to war and was shattered by the experience returning very depressed.

Adele Invergordon (Charlize Theron) once the love of Junuh's life, has organized a golf tournament in an effort to save her late father's vision: the Krewe Island Golf Resort, which he built before the Great Depression destroyed his dream. She turns to Junuh, he has a chance to take part in the golf tournament against the greatest golfers of the day, Bobby Jones (Joel Gretsch) and Walter Hagen (Bruce McGill) but he isn't interested in either his former love or the golf tournament. Adele too, fighting to save Krewe Island doesn't realise that until the match that her greatest challenge is Junuh who she thought she had moved on from.

Enter Bagger Vance (Will Smith), who becomes Junuh's mysterious black caddie who shows him how to rekindle his inner strength and use it to fight for what he wants and believes in.
