Synopsis

Chris (Emile Hirsch) is in debt to a drug lord, so he hires a hitman, Joe Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), to dispatch his mother, whose $50,000 life insurance policy benefits his sister Dottie (Juno Temple). Joe Cooper is also a crazy Dallas cop who moonlights as a contract killer and when Chris can't pay Joe upfront, he takes Dottie hostage as collateral for the job.

When the hitman and hostage develop an unusual bond, Cooper becomes the prince to Dottie's Cinderella in this contemporary, twisted fairy tale.

Based on the play by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts, the provocative black comedy is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker William Friedkin (THE EXORCIST, THE FRENCH CONNECTION).
