Synopsis
The movie documents the story of 78 year old Tobias Schneebaum. A shy, gay, Jewish New Yorker, he was an artist and art historian giving lectures on primitive art and cultures but who also explored the Peruvian and Indonesian jungles to join headhunters and cannibals, and become adopted into their tribe, leading their way of life. KEEP THE RIVER ON YOUR RIGHT: A MODERN CANNIBAL TALE follows Tobias' life across the decades and continents, including the wide variety of people he met along the way in addition to his relatives and friends.
