Synopsis

Benjamin Fiedler (Daryl Sabara) is about to endure a Bar Mitzvah in Brentwood, California - an initiation rite that will lead him into manhood. Not only must he chant in Hebrew in front of a load of strangers but his parents, Adam (Jeremy Piven) and Joanne (Jami Gertz) are organizing a mega party where the Bar is more important than the Mitzvah and a Jewish Star means Neil Diamond!

If this wasn't enough the Fiedlers must outdo the 'Titanic'-themed Bar Mitzvah Adam's rival agent (Arnie Stein (Larry Miller) is hosting. But it's the arrival of Adam's father Irwin (Garry Marshall) now a gray-haired hippie who throws everything into turmoil.

Arriving in his broken down camper with spacey younger girlfriend, Sandy (Daryl Hannah) this is just what the Fiedlers didn't need!
