Synopsis

Mea Shearim is an ultra-orthodox district of Jerusalem and the film is about the relationship between two sisters and three men and their dedication to their religion. One sister Rivka has been married to a very religious husband, Meir for 10 years but they have no children and the rabbi wants Meir to remarry a young woman who has better prospects of producing children. Her sister, Malka loves Yaakov but he has been banished from the community so she is married off by the rabbi to his helper instead.
