Synopsis

Having just rented an apartment in San Francisco, David (Mark Ruffalo) is somewhat surprised when a pretty but decidedly controlling young woman suddenly shows up adamantly insisting the apartment is hers. Under the impression there must be a huge misunderstanding he is equally perplexed when she disappears as mysteriously as she appeared. Changing the locks does nothing to deter Elizabeth who is upset by his personal living habits and making a mess of her apartment.

Concluding she's a ghost his attempts to help her cross over to the "other side" are thwarted by Elizabeth who though recognising she does have a distinctly ethereal quality is determined she's still alive and isn't crossing over to anywhere else.

As they both search for the truth about who Elizabeth is, there relationship deepens but permanency together is fading away as time is running out.
