Synopsis

The time is the near future. A team of government scientists who work at the Crystal Lake Research Facility have finally captured the notoriously and seemingly indestructible killer Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder). In order to at least contain Jason, the plan is to freeze him in cryogenic suspension. But as usual things go horribly wrong and he breaks free to resume his murderous ways. The sole survivor of this latest rampage, Rowan (Lexa Doig), manages to lure Jason into the cryogenic chamber. However, before she can complete the process and escape, she is mortally wounded and frozen in time along with Jason.

Now 400 years later in 2455 Professor Lowe (Jonathan Potts) is leading a field trip to Earth with a group of students. While exploring they discover the still frozen body of Jason and transport him back to their spaceship. Not for long though, when after a major incident he is brought back to life and picks up where he left off, beginning another murderous reign of terror.

Jason Voorhees, iconic movie villain returns to the screens after a nine-year absence in the 10 th installment of the classic FRIDAY THE 13 TH film series - the first having been released in 1980. First time director Jim Isaac's, who has an extensive background working in special effects, had been looking for an original angle to update the character of Jason, while still retaining the visceral thrills that fans of the series have come to expect. Isaac's approached series creator Sean Cunningham with whom he had collaborated previously. As it turned out Cunningham was always imagining fresh and exciting ways to reinvent the character.
