Synopsis

ISLAND is a haunting tale of yearning, retribution and redemption. A psychological drama based on the acclaimed novel by Jane Rogers, Nikki Black has spent most of her life in 'care' sustained only by fairy-stories. Abandoned at birth, she is unable to show love, and is increasingly fearful and desperate for revenge. She decides on a plan to find her birth mother, confront her... then kill her.

Travelling incognito to a remote Hebridean island, she finds Phyllis who now lives as a recluse with Calum - her islander son. Weeks pass and Nikki gradually awakens to the magic of the island, her beguiling brother and their shared passion for storytelling. And, all the while, her murderous paranoia intensifies...
